nature

Isn't mother nature wonderful? These were taken the other morning from my backyard. See the double rainbows. My whole room was orange, it was so spectacular!

We live in the coolest place for little kids, there is wildlife all over, we have caught about 20 frogs, 3 salamanders and a baby fox. The coolest was finding a caterpillar, watching it make a cacoon and turn into Monarch butterfly. Take a look at the transformation.

{got pumpkins?}

Okay so I got the idea for these darling pumpkins on "The Birds Papaya" blog they were featured on "Shanty2chic". They are so simple and fun to do I let my boys each make one, yes paint and all. They had fun hunting for sticks to cut and make the stems.
We already had some of these boards and so I got out the trusty saw and went wild. any legnth is great, just make three different sizes and cut the corners off. Painteach pumpkin a different color(AMERICA paints are on sale for 89 cents at Joanns this week), distress then glue on the stem tie some raffia around and wala-your done.

Fall at my house

I love Fall! Too bad it only last a little while. I love to decorate for the holidays, my fav is Christmas but since I promised to wait until after Thanksgiving dinner was over to decorate I better do the other holidays. My darling boys grew these pumpkins, (they are so excited they actually grew). We tried to grow our own corn it didn't work out so well, the bugs ate it before we could even pick it, dang bugs! So here they are our pumpkins on my front porch so orange so festive. Hope you are all having a HAPPY HARVEST!
Oh! look at the moon in this picture.

This is a wood box idea I got from "show and tell" a awesome blog that I fequently go to for wonderful ideas. She made them for her grandmas wedding center pieces with flowers in mason jars, darling and so simple.

Refinnished chair

I got these chairs from my sister-in-law. They were tall bar stool type chairs so I cut the legs shorter and refinnished and destressed them.

These are the before pictures....I started with just the small section on the one wall and added more.

These are the after pictures. The kids love that they can reach teir own hooks, and I love it because their stuff doesn't end up on the floor!

My paint isn't really this orange color. There is no natural light in this room so it was a bit tricky.
