I already showed you my entry table. Here is the other one I made.
Items you will need.
wood glue
nail gun
sander
knobs/hardware ( for your awesome fake drawers)
Top: 1"Thickness)x48"(legnth)x16"(deep)- I actually got a 8 foot board and cut it in half (for 2 table tops)
Legs: 2x2 nothing special just make sure they are straight ( I dug thru a ton of piles to get straight boards)
Front/back: 1x6 (cut to 42.5 long)
Sides: 1x6 (10 inches long)
Drawers: 1x4 (each drawer is 1 foot long)
Here is all the wood, cut and ready to go.
I started with the legs. I took one leg and used it to measure all around the underneath of the Top so there was a lip around the table top. The legs start in about 1.5 inches in from the sides. I glued the legs and sides on let them dry for about a half hour. (below)
I flipped the table over when dry and nailed them to the top. (below)
I glued and nailed the drawers in place about 1.5 inches on both sides and about 2 inches in between each drawer, let dry about 10 minutes. Nailed and glued to the rest of the table and let dry for about an hour(below)
That's it! It's all put together. I filled in any holes or cracks with painter putty. Now it is ready for paint.
I stained the top. I actually stained the whole table (I wanted the dark wood to show when I distressed it) not really needed. Then painted/dristressed the base. Drilled thru the drawers added handles/knobs and then your finnished with your table. Its really not too complicated you can make one I swear!
(below)
And for under $50 You just can't beat it!
Table #1 Table #2 Good luck with your tables, make sure to share if you make one of these I would LOVE to see them!!

ReplyDeleteThis looks so great!! I wish I had your talent... I've been on the search for a console table and I refuse to shed out $200+ for one. Found you on Pinterest and I'm a new follower.
ReplyDeleteCan you share what stain color you used on the table? It looks like minwax dark walnut? Oh and what kind of brush did you use to put on the stain- foam or natural fiber?
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
Angie, yes you are right it is minwax gel stain in walnut. I used a foam brush and chucked it after. Good luck on your project. Lindsay
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your little tables! I recently made a table as well but I love that you put the little shelf down below on your white one! You are right, what could be better than another place to decorate and put knick knacks! I printed your tutorial to make your table-I can't wait! Thanks for sharing! I love your blog, I added it to my sidebar! :)
ReplyDeleteJennifer
I like this one better for the area that I need it, which would be backing up to a couch. By the way, I also want the star that is in your header photo. Love that.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! Can you tell me if you made both tables for $50? Or $50 each? Also, what type of wood did you use? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIs a nail gun necessary for this? LOVE the idea and can't wait to make a table!
ReplyDeleteWhere would one find a Top: 1"Thickness)x48"(legnth)x16"(deep)? I went to the Home Depot and they said it would be hard to find anywhere
ReplyDeleteLowe's will cut wood to size. You will have to buy the whole 4x8 slab, but who knows, you may find another use for the extra wood. Hope this helps. :)
DeleteO.K., I must admit, I am addicted to your blog. I just love your talent. I Love this table, and am going to attempt it. How long are the legs?
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! We just redid coffee table, and I lamented that we couldn't DIY an entry table. I was wrong! So excited to try this!

ReplyDeleteThese tables look great! My wife and I are starting to get into DIY projects and this is exactly what we need. I really like the white paint with the stained wood. What kind of white paint did you use? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey there! Great blog. How did you nail the legs in? I couldn't find a pic or more instruction. Is it being nailed from the top of the table? And then are you seeing the nails from the top through the stain? Thanks so much!
