head board, foot board, king size bed....

Last year I came across this great all wood bed I grabed it without really thinking and it wasn't until I was loading it into my truck that I realized it was for a King size bed. Um huge.. I took it home and it sat in my basement for about 6 months. I finally got around to painting it and it is really cute all distressed but I odnt need or want a king sized bed and it must me really old because the head board is about 2 feet tall.. I think it was made for a lepracaun that likes low long beds?? I don't know i am trying to think of what I can make it into maybe a bench or add longer legs or saw it in half and make a couple of twin beds?? you got any ideas??

  4. I buy things at yard sales or at good will all the time and wonder why I did but the second I get rid of it I see millions of ideas on how I could have used it. thats frustrating! lol I dont know how heavy your boards are BUT i have seen where they take head boards and make them into shelves. SOOOOO pretty! I have a twin headboard Im going to use to make a shelve for my sons room when I get time. Also I have seen that you can put hooks on them for a coat rack. OR I have seen REALLY pretty flower "BEDS" made out of them. I have wanted one for years:) I wish I had a link to share with you but i saw it in the front of a house in my town. SO STINKEN CUTE. To me it looked like she just made it like a headboard bench but dropped the seat in. It was low to the ground like yours. Good Luck! cant wait to see what you do with it:)

  6. You could make it into a daybed. Use the footboard by cutting in half and making it the left and right sides and using the headboard as the piece against the wall. Would be beautiful!
