sofa table add on..

I made this table last fall, I love it but really wanted to add a bottom shelf like I did for my entry table
So I did here is the before
{before}

                                                                                {after}

I used a 2x4 in the front and a 2x2 in the back to hold up the shelf planks which are 2x6. cut them the same depth of the table and screwed them in.
Then on went the Minwax Gel Stain
That's it it was really simple, and the best part is that m son who is four said to me when it was all done "so were not suppoed to crawl under there anymore right?"and I said "no mommy doesn't want you crawling under the table any more, sorry" son "cus it's for baskets and decorations under there not kids right? how cute is he.. I just love the things he comes up with.
Well happy day to you.

  1. Kids can be so cute! :) I really like the shelf added to your table! I wish that I had more room in my entry so that I could make your table with the shelf for extra storage space. Nice job! :)

  3. I can't believe you made this yourself! Looks better than Pottery Barn's new cabinets, which are similar.

  6. I really love this table and want to attempt to make it, I'm not at all crafty but I'm gonna try.. Do you have measurements and maybe a hardware list that you can disclose.. Maybe email me txangyl.86@gmail.com of you don't mind.. And what did you use to make the faux drawers?

  7. Okay, I am really dummy when it comes to stuff like this, but I really want to try to build this table. Do you have measurements for the wood that you can provide? Like, so I can go into Home Depot or Lowe's and say "Here, please." :) I saw the measurements on the earlier post, but I don't understand them. For example, why is there a difference between table and table top width? I am sorry, I am a dummy, I know! I appreciate any help!

  8. Do you know how many 2x4's and 2x6's you ended up using?
