Isn't she lovely! Isn't she wonderful! I am so happy with how this turned out. I've wanted to get an old desk for so long and now I have one :D(my big cheesy smile). here are the before and afters. The top is stained a dark walnut, the rest is a bright white.

Beautiful! Looks great. I love that the top is the dark stain - what a wonderful contrast!

did you refinish the hardware? I've got some cabinet ones I need to do...any tips?

ReplyDeleteI actually spray painted them... yes-really, with a flat black spray paint from ACE. I loved the origional hardware but not the color. I have done this at my parents house too. You can spray paint so many things. I have actually done my light fixtures in my house. They started out silvery/black and I re-did them oil rubbed bronze... much better. Lowes has clearance hardware all the time so go check-often.
