New baby on the way!

Hello my friends! You have probably been wondering the past month what is going on with this blog.. NO post for almost a month!!!

Well I have some wonderful news!!

I am pregnant with my 4th child!!

Well for those of you that know me presonally already know this but when I am pregnant I get horribly sick starting at about 7 weeks and goes until about 18-20 weeks. not the normal morning sickness but all day and night sickness. I have a hard time keeping anything down, that includes water!!
it is really hard. But I have done it before and I will do it again. I will survive!

So thus the reason for no posts for the past month. I have been just too sick and have NO energy. Showering is my biggest accomplishment for the day and sometimes that doesn't even happen.
So please stick with me durring this time and I swear I will finnish some projects and get them posted.

I am due January 8th 2013. (My in-laws just got a mission call for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to Kinshasa, CONGO they are leaving on January 7th!! So hopefully our little bundle of joy will come before that.)

Do any of you get really sick when pregnant?? What do you do to feel better?

Thanks for your kindness and patience!

Thanks for all the emails I have been getting. I will try to keep up on them but it might take me a few days to get back to you.

Thanks,

Lindsay

  4. I get exceptionally sick as well, and I just had my 4th. Zofran helps keep the food down but doesn't help the nausea. Basically sleep is the only thing that helps- which is pretty much not happening when you have other kids to look after. I have been on blog hiatus for a year now, being sick and then having 4 little ones is CRAZY!!! Good luck.

  7. OMG! so happy for you! Congrats! what a wonderful time it is to be pregnant...that is, once you start feeling better! lol.
If I craved anything I would eat it immediately - like yogurt or something sweet. It didn't matter what it was because that was the only way I could keep from feeling nauseous. Good luck. hot sauce (like franks red hot) on french fries or wings definitely made me feel better. Apparently hot sauce releases capsaicin to your brain and makes you feel happier...so maybe that's why it worked...

  9. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! Oh Linds I am so happy for you! Um, I think Jan. 8th is a FABULOUS day to be born, I mean, SUPER COOL people are born on that day ;) and I'm pretty sure it ensure your child will be a DIYer. And I really can't think of a better birthday gift for you to give me than having your BABY on MY BIRTHDAY!!! :) haha Seriously, I'm so stoked for you. I have fingers crossed about 12 times that it's a girl. You need some ruffles! But let's be honest, another dashingly good-lookin' blonde lady-killer would be fabulous as well. Sorry you're sick, hang in there! CONGRATS!!!!!

    1. Thanks Megs! I would love to have our baby on your birthday that would be wonderful but I always go at least one week before my due date. Yes a girl would be fun but we are just wanting a healthy baby either way boy or girl, but I agree I need some pink and ruffles haha ha. So glad u stopped by. Hope all is well.

  13. Hi Lindsay,
Congrats! I know EXACTLY how you feel! Every time I'm pregnant I get sick ALL day long, or as long as I am awake... When I was pregnant with my first child, I was sick until the moment I gave birth!
I'm afraid there is nothing that can efficently be done to get rid of this. What I do is I alsways keep something to eat (and water) along with me. Also, I drink water or sparkling water with a squeeze of lemon in it. I noticed that fractionning meals and drinking lemonned water really eased the nauseous sensations. It does not always prevent you from throwing up, but still, I find it helps (especially when you have to go to work!)
Great blog BTW! (I have a French cooking blog, here's the address: http://tartine-jeanne.over-blog.com)
    Cheers!

  14. Congratulations! The only thing that helped my nausea during pregnancy were jolly ranchers. Sounds crazy, but I spent a lot of money on those preggie pops and my doctor say they are basically jolly ranchers with a little ginger in them. So I got a bag of jolly ranchers and basically sucked on those all day long. Maybe it was in my mind, but it did help! :) Here's to a happy, healthy pregnancy!

  15. Congrats on #4! I have been missing posts from you, but now I know why! :) This is my first time commenting, but I just had to pass along a bit of info. I also had extremely bad morning/all day sickness with my second baby. And I actually lost 25 pounds with my first due to being so sick. Zofran did little to help. What I found to really help was ginger. Ginger tea, ginger snap cookies, ginger capsules, however I could get it. Ginger snap cookies really helped for first thing in the morning. I am not a fan of ginger, but when you are so sick you spend most of your day in the bathroom...you'll try anything! :) Hope you are feeling better soon! Can't wait to see more posts soon!

    1. Annie, you sound just like me this is the first pregnancy I havent lost a bunch of weight, well as much as usual :/ you know last week I saw a huge thing of ginger cookies and thought, those look good, I totally should have grabbed them. I will have to have my hubby grab some. Thanks for the ginger tip, I will try anything with ginger in it. Have a good day.

  16. My last pregnancy I tried acupuncture. I still took zofran and phenergan (sp?) and it was the first time I wasn't hospitalized in the first or second trimester! Go a few times and give it a good try. GOOD LUCK!!!

  17. Congratulations!!! Baby news is always exciting and special. I just had my third baby a few weeks ago and was horribly sick during all of my pregnancies as well. Ginger does help, but I couldn't handle the strong smell of it. My girlfriend told me mint helps... But I was craving something juicy, and I found MENTOS. I would eat about three sticks of them a day in the early weeks... And even now when my tummy is a little upset it still helps. Good luck, rest up and hang in there.

  18. Congratulations! We are thinking about baby number 4. but number 3 is only 14 months old. I'm one of the lucky ones who never gets sick tho. Very lucky ones! Best of luck to you and your family.

I am a new follower and LOVE your stuff. Quick question... where did you get that curtain rod about the sofa table? I cannot find one like that ANYWHERE!

  19. Congratulations! I'm a new follower, and can totally sympathize with you! All three of my pregnancies have been the same way - I stay nauseous and throwing up until about 25 weeks... :( A few things that helped me with my last one - sipping Dr. Pepper (and I am NOT a carbonation fan, but it really did help!), suckers, and Peppermint oil (I use DoTerra, but when I felt especially sick, I would smell the oil and it really helped!) or any candy that was peppermint. Ginger did NOTHING for me except make me sicker, so I can't say on that. I hope you find some relief! It's so hard with other kids - which is why we're still waiting on #4 - #3 is the BIGGEST handful of them all! :D

    Good luck

  20. Congratulations!! I had a hard time with all my pregnancies but my last one (3rd baby) was the worst! I was sick the entire time. I took 1/2 unison and a vitamin b6, saltine crackers, coke and 1/2 a phenergan when it got really bad. It made me drowsy but 1/2 wasn't as bad. Good luck! I hope you can find relief!

  21. My doctor told me to keep a couple slices of lemon in a ziplock bag and when I felt sick to smell it. I know it sounds crazy but it worked. I teach and would keep it in my pants pocket and just sniff it throughout the day. Congrats and good luck!

  22. Congrats! I found with my first I had maxalon from the doctor. That stuff is amazing!

  23. A friend of mine found that magnesium oil you rub into your skin helped her a ton. I don't really know anything more about it than that, but maybe you coud research it?

  24. I just found you on pinterest. My pregnancies sound similar to yours. I was on phenegren the first 2 pregnancies. Then I got zofran with my third, that helped a lot. I wasn't drowsy! I am still nauseated but I don't throw up. If I don't take medication I don't stop throwing up. I take medication till the day I deliver. We are planning on having baby #4 soon but I am dreading the fist half of the pregnancy. I have found everyone's suggestions very helpful. I hope you are feeling okay.

  25. Hi I just found your blog and be a new reader!
My pregnancie war a horrortrip! I was sick for the whole time! It was such a bad vomit-thing that I had some ruptures in my oesophagus.... but who cares? I was allowed to eat what ever I like ( it wasn´t in me that long :-) ) and my Baby-One was ok, so .....
I think that was the trick, to eat what you like, don´t move that fast, don´t overact and chill and for me the very best was sitting in the sun or even outside to breath fresh air!
Unfortunately I´m not allowed to be pregnant oncemore, but with my little Girl and my stepdoughter I have two wonderful girls :-)
I wish you the very best!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy the thought of having No 4!!!!!!!! :-)
